Skinny Fat Cardio

Should a Skinny Fat Person focus on cardio to lose fat?

The worst combo to cure Skinny Fat is Cardio + Dieting.

Cardio inherently is not bad when done within limits- no more than 2 hours a week!

However, for Skinny Fat people, there is a much superior way out there, and that is HIIT. The idea is to convert a basic cardio session like swimming/cycling into an HIIT session.

I swim only for 15 minutes using the concept of HIIT. 5 sprint laps for 30 sec doing freestyle.

Recover either by playing with my son for 2 min and then going for a sprint lap again for 30 sec doing freestyle. Sometimes, when my son is not swimming with me, I recover by doing breaststrokes in a very casual manner.

I rest a lot between sprint sessions. this helps me recover fully and allows me to go all out with my high-intensity intervals.

HIIT works out your fast twitch muscle fibers which otherwise do not get fully activated when doing regular swimming.

There is a huge upsurge of HGH and testosterone after every bout of HIIT session. This helps build muscle.

A Skinny Fat person has weak genetics when it comes to building muscle. His/her recovery capabilities are average too.

They should follow a high-intensity/low-volume workout model to get the best results.
