Be A Winner | Practice The Action Habit

Every big job, whether it is operating a business, a high-level executive position, or even a government position, requires a man who thinks action.

Every interviewer looks for the quality of action, no matter how well the interviewee speaks or how pleasant his personality is; at the back of the mind, the interviewer thinks: Will he do the job? Will he follow through?

Can he get results? Ultimately that’s what matters.

Excellent Ideas Are Not Enough

I know many people who had this ‘great idea.’ But how many of them act upon it? Very few. They postpone it, giving themselves excuses, and before they know it, they have spiraled them into talking out of this ‘great idea!’

Remember this phrase,

‘Action precedes action. It’s the law of nature.’

Use mechanical force to start your mind engine. Get into the act. I can think of countless little things which I used to postpone earlier. But now, I simply go through the motion of these unpleasant tasks, and before I know it, I am into those tasks and even killing it. 🙂

Successful People Build Routines, Not Willpower

Try it if you are in business. But first, you need to be a self-starter. A wise man once said 50% of the work is just showing up. So if you don’t feel like going to your office, just keep showing up; I promise you things will eventually improve.

Do you not feel like working out?

Put your shoes on, and simply go to the gym. I can almost guarantee that your gym attendance will drastically improve this year. Afraid to make that call?? Well, just make that call.

Of course, some kind of preparation is important, but delay it beyond a point, and you may end up feeling guilty later on.

The saying, ‘Something is better than nothing,’ fits this scenario.

A rough draft is better than an empty page. That draft gives you something to work on when you open up later. That’s how I write 500 words almost daily.

If I don’t feel like writing, this is what I do, I open up my Macbook, pick up a topic and simply start writing whatever comes to my mind. And before I know it, I am in the flow. Of course, of course, it doesn’t work every time, but hey, at least I did something. Over time it adds up to a significant amount.

What do you think about the action habit? Have something that you like to add. Then, let me know in the comments below!

I needed this desperately today. I’m procrastinating on a very important assignment linked to a job I have prayed for for so long. I know I’m making excuses.

So now I’m diving in and going to do my possible best to have a shot at this job and be proud of myself whether I get it or not! – I’m showing up!

Thank you
