It’s so tough to convince him to expose himself to the Sun 🌞 upto 20 minutes a day! He wants the mat ( I ask him to lay on the grass without the mat because of a thing called ‘grounding’ -topic for some other day) I then ask him not to use the Umbrella as maximum exposure is required And he needs to play his game on the phone else he will not agree for this healthful act. Most of us are severely deficient in Vitamin-D.(COVID is making it even worse, because of increased time in our homes) I have an article which explains Vitamin -D in a lot of detail. ( link in bio) It’s extremely imp. Especially for kids as without enough Vitamin-D , calcium cannot be effectively utilised by the body to support bone growth and development. Food is enough to get Vitamin -D, supplementation can help but most of the brands are useless. Take advantage of the best Free source and it is the Sun. Find any corner of your house /balcony ( if you have a garden then awesome) which gets direct sunlight. Sit down with your kids and try and expose maximum skin for optimal intake. "Focus on what you care about, everything else is noise" If your attention is diverted and scattered on things like: 👉 what people think of you 👉or you worry too much abt everything in your life that is not going according to how you want it 👉or you get anxious when life throws a little bit of challenge your way 👉or perhaps you have an opinion about almost everything that is happ. in the world around ..and you like to talk abt it...just to impress others 👉or you are pursuing a lot of things in life and end up not doing anything deeply then you probably would never be able to achieve truly amazing results in things that truly matter to you. It's so important first to figure out what you want, what truly matters in your life. What you truly and deeply care about. Then, you start to cut off other things one..by..one. Until you are only left with things that Matter. Settling in my new Home Office 😃 In the background, you can see that I give more preference to Creativity than Entertainment..haha! Instead of a big T.V. hogging the wall, I got a Huge Customized Whiteboard to help me unleash my creativity:) Honestly, I do not watch T.V. at all, its an attraction for my boy so that he can spend more time with me🙂 Now, Information is divided into 'Creativity' and 'Consumption' We are Creative beings. We are best when we can imagine possibilities, explore ourselves and the world by remaining passionately Curious most of our waking hours! Unfortunately, we numb ourselves with senseless often violent media including News, T.V. shows, movies, and endless Social Media browsing! Most of them are negative, violent, and provides no educational value or help you progress you towards your goals! Needless to say, there is a small percentage of media content that is both entertaining and educational, but these pieces are very rare. I am not asking you to stop consuming multi-media content, rather what I am proposing is to prioritize Creation like: Start writing a Blog Start expressing yourself in a daily journal Start to go deep in your subconscious mind and learn to tap into the vast and infinite intelligence you have within each one of us! Start to Create Inspiring and Educational videos on Youtube Start to Create the Life You Want Consumption of Information is divided into 'Educational' and 'Entertainment' Content. The latter type of content provides no intrinsic value, except that you feel very good in the short term. Most of the time our mind rationalizes the binge-watching by telling us we learned quite a lot:) Consumption of Educational Content is very important as it helps you expand your imagination, and fuels your creativity. My suggestion is to start: 👉Consuming Educational Content 2-3 hours/day 👉Then spend at least 2 hours in Creating stuff. Can be anything, but most of it should be tied with your work and overall goals. 👉Lastly, 5-10% of Entertaining Content is ok, just to let off some steam. #fabulousbody21 #passionatelycurious #creativemind

“Use what you have, do what you can “ Inspiring words from Keshav Kalia- who is a Batsman in the Chicago United Cricket Team. He dropped 22 lbs (10kg) in just 4 months! His body fat % was at 25% which he significantly lowered to a healthy 13% He wanted a change starting Feb 20, but then COVID happened and gyms were closed! Most people would take it easy, not him! He incorporated morning cardio and HIIT sessions coupled with lifting his backpack full of books. Diet as we know plays a key role when you are trying to lose weight, so he enrolled in my Sports Nutrition Diploma Course and gained nutrition knowledge. Always wanted a water source near me:) I am so glad I could add this beautiful Buddha Water Fall in my newly renovated office! Studies point towards the fact that soothing sounds like that of water, soothing music, birds chirping and so forth reduces stress and induces a calming effect. 😊 This is because of the activation of parasympathetic nervous system ( which promotes digestion and recovery ) I’ll be posting more on things that will help you optimize your environment... The Indian Thali ( which I have almost everyday ) has always an item or two which is rich in Probiotics. Here Yogurt and Mint Chutney are two foods rich in Probiotics. Probiotics are simply the ‘good bacteria’ in your gut. You’ll be surprised to know that bacteria in your gut outnumber human cells by 10:1! Further, our gut has been touted as the second brain. Hippocrates the Ancient Greek Physician quotes that “ All diseases begin the gut” Therefore it makes a LOT of sense to not only eat a diet which includes probiotic rich foods but also adopt a lifestyle that optimizes your gut microbiome. I am getting my Home Gym Renovated! Recently, I finished reading an amazing book by David Goggins “You can’t hurt me”. In this book, he talks about a governor that pretty much decides everything in your life! Think of him as an inner voice that makes decisions for you every waking minute. Your governor is basically a collection of your values, fears, behaviors, and habits you picked up while growing up! Goggins further states that your governor works at no more than 40 percent of what you are capable of! It’s slick and knows you very well. It knows your fear, your insecurities. It is well-trained to keep you in a comfort zone. Whenever a challenging situation arises it will immediately start hurdling 101 excuses. For example, looking at the state of my gym, my governor would have said something like this: Akash, the gym is messy and dirty. You won’t be able to exercise with full intensity. It’s best to either start doing Yoga full-time or perhaps go for calisthenics. (Not that these are bad options, but I have already made a commitment concerning my strength training goals) It will give me another option- to take a deload week. Essentially, deloading is imp part of one’s training routine, and every now and then one should go for this to avoid over-training. But I know my time has not come yet. Basically, my governor has a lot of excuses up its sleeves and will do whatever it takes to keep me in the comfort zone and this will not allow me to cross the 40 percent capacity mark. With increased awareness (comes from meditation) you will realize that there is more than one voice inside of you. This another voice is a stronger version of you. This voice only likes to take action and not overthink or give any excuses. It wants to embrace pain and suffering as it knows this is the only way you will grow, learn, and ultimately fulfill your destiny. It knows how to operate at a much higher percentage than just 40! Guys, listen to this stronger voice more often, slowly and gradually build a strong mindset and push yourself, start to get comfortable being uncomfortable. Give this strong voice a personality and make it a dominant part

How Deep do you sleep 😴 🛏 💤 ? In the pic, the app ‘Sleep Cycle’ is showing how deep my sleep is! Here are some suggestions to enter into deep sleep phase for the longest time possible ( please know that it is only in the deep sleep phase true recovery /rejuvenation of the body happens): 1- leave a gap of at least 3 hours between your last meal and your sleep. 2- Limit ( or completely zero down) the use of Electronics at least an hour before bedtime. 3- Meditate ( this is one of the most imp reason why I am able to sleep this deep) Most days, I meditate post 9pm until I fell asleep 😴 4- Use blue-ray screen blockers. You can use a software called Flux which changes your laptop screen to a resolution which creates less impact on your eyes. 5- Try and sleep and wake up at the same time for at least 25 days in a month. 6- comfortable temperature to sleep in is imp. Not too cold, not too hot. I usually keep my aircon between 24-25 degree Celsius (75-78 degree fahrenheit) 7- After 5pm start to dim the lights in your house. Less lights the better. And at the time of sleep, ensure that your room is pitch dark. Use blackout curtains if needed. Just a little bit of light can interfere with your melatonin levels! This is my boys slogan ! 🍎🍇🥗🧘‍♂️👬 I have scheduled junk food for him. One day is a chocolate day, another one fries day and so on. But overall calories from junk and fast foods are limited to no more than 20% for him. He looks forward to his ‘specific junk’ food days which allows him to stay consistent with eating healthy the remaining 80% of the calories ! Needless to say, children are like monkeys 🐒 , they copy what their parents do, say, and eat! Please limit entry of junk, sweet and fast food in your house. Only keep what ever is necessary. Teach your kids the fundamentals from an early age and they will develop solid healthy habits early that potentially will keep them healthy for the rest of their lives :) #fabulousbody21 #fabulouskids #healthyfood #healthybodyandmind #healthylife
